Prayers please!

Not for me. Well, not TODAY, anyway.

Got a call from my next door neighbor yesterday afternoon, asking if I could watch her 8 year old daughter today. It turns out that her sister (the kids’ aunt) died unexpectedly. So she left the 7 year old with her husband and drove a few hours to break the news to her dad in person. While they were there, her 7 year old son had a severe asthma attack and had to be rushed to the hospital (not for the first time, sadly).

Anyway, he’s since been transferred to a hospital in Pittsburgh, but I’ll take any prayers or happy thoughts you might want to send upstairs on their behalf. It sure sounded like she might need them…

UPDATE Thursday 11:00 am: He did well overnight, but they’re doing more tests today. His sister has been here since 8:30 am. We had a 2-hour delay for school this morning, and a couple more neighborhood kids joined us from 10:00 to 10:30 am. Put three kids on the bus at 10:30, and kept 2: Little Sis, and the 8 year old neighbor.

TiVo is well loved today.

UPDATE Thursday 2:30 pm: Some test results came back. No viruses or pneumonia. Part of his lung collapsed, but it should resolve itself with the right treatment and time. They’re deciding whether to put him under and go scope things out. Meanwhile, Little Sis and Eight are in the basement playing the Wii and doing craft projects.
