Lovely day!

Well, yesterday turned out quite well! I had a lot of fun with the girls.

We hit Bob Evans for breakfast, where our server undercharged us (even after I pointed it out to her! I tipped nicely). The girls desperately coveted the zebra beanie babies, but I reminded them that birthdays are coming up….

Then we swung by Kohl’s to return something, and ended up leaving with two dresses, two tops, a pair of capris and a pair of shorts, all for the girls, and for a grand total of $0.47! (I used up a merchandise credit and three long-languishing gift cards in my wallet.)

Off to Barnes & Noble then. We spent a long hour or so in the kids section, where the girls put on several plays for me up on the storytelling stage. It was so great to see them just being creative kids, instead of asking me if they could watch TV. We left after two bathroom visits, 4 books for each of the girls (Magic Tree House for Big Sis, Clifford-heavy for Little Sis), one book for me, two Fiji waters, a chocolate milk, an iced coffee, and a large chocolate chip cookie.

We headed back home and collected ourselves for a while. When Daddy got home, we had a nice meal of leftovers, then packed a cooler to meet our friends at the drive in, where we watched Nim’s Island and Horton Hears a Who until midnight. What a great day!
